When you became a vegetarian did you also think about the risks associated with it?

Yost Asked: When you became a vegetarian did you also think about the risks associated with it?

Soy products and genital defects
A study has shown that boys born to mothers who consume relatively large amounts of soya products (such as tofu and soy milk) and vegetables containing pesticide residue were more likely to suffer from a specific genital defect, called hypospadias. Naturally occurring chemicals called phytoestrogens, found in soya products, are implicated as one cause.[49] Another study also observed that a maternal vegetarian diet in pregnancy had a fivefold higher risk of producing infants with hypospadias.[50]
Professor Lindsay Allen of the United States Agricultural Research Service, declared: "There's absolutely no question that it's unethical for parents to bring up their children as strict vegans, unless those who practiced them were well-informed about how to add back the missing nutrients through supplements or fortified foods
The study concluded that the added nutrients, especially vitamin B12 contained in the meat and milk improved the health of the children in the study

What are some good dinners for vegetarian kids?

cheermomgoteam Asked: What are some good dinners for vegetarian kids?

I am a vegetarian and regret not raising my kids as vegetarians. I always wanted it to be their choice. Thankfully, my 10 year old daughter told me three days ago that she wants to be a vegetarian. I am so excited! But I want to strike while the iron is hot, so to speak. I don't want her to get bored and give up. I know I eat food she would think is weird. Does anyone have any kid friendly vegetarian recipes or ideas? Her breakfast and lunch is already vegetarian. She just eats meat at dinner and has never been a huge meat eater. But I want her to have fun and I want her to still feel like a kid. Thanks:)

I feel very weak and sick, numbness in my arms and chest?

Prizm Asked: I feel very weak and sick, numbness in my arms and chest?

I have anxiety and lately I've been having really strong panic attacks every day at multiple times. I am on Xanax but lately I've been feeling very faint and weak and my arms and body feel numb. I feel a pressure in the bottom of my throat and I'm having troubles taking fulfilling breaths of air. I have random, sudden pains in my head and sometimes my chest is numb.
I am scheduling an appointment on Monday (since it's the weekend), but should I be worried right now? I'm 17 on BC and Xanax, vegetarian, female, healthy body weight.

How do I improve my characters and stop them from being stereotypes?

Emma Asked: How do I improve my characters and stop them from being stereotypes?

I am writing a real life diary story aimed at teenagers about a 14 year old girl who gets a new stepfamily. She is a misfit geek kind of girl. These are friends I have "created" for her but they all seem very cliche or mary sueish. Here they are, they are all 14:

Alex(andra) – A femenist, wears emo clothes. Into politics. Very rebellious against
teachers. Intelligent but doesn't try. Often appears abrasive to people who aren't her
friends. Pessemistic. Willowy with dark brown hair in a short, funky bob.

Emily – Sweet but quite emotional. Very excitable.
An animal person who likes nature programs. Vegetarian. Blonde with hair nearly
always in a top knot.

Sarah – Overweight but not obese. Optimistic, good sense of humour. A really loud, strange laugh.
Clumsy, no common sense but quite academic. Sensitive about her weight.
Brown hair in a bob.

Parvani – Good sense of humour, not very emotional and hard to upset. Hindu.
Quite strict parents who want her to do very well at school. Takes the piss out of her
culture. Very intelligent. Long, black hair which she wears in a ponytail.

Emily, for me is the only character that isn't a mary sue or stereotypical (you might think otherwise). People have told me that Alex is a mary sue and I agree but I still want to work with her and make her less so, any ideas how I can do that? Sarah is fat and jolly, is there any way I can change her character to make her less stereotypical or should I scrap her altogether. Parvani is a bit stereotypical but not as much as Sarah, any ideas what I could do to the character to make her less so?

Thanks in advance.
